Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) are one of the most energy-efficient building system in use today.  The forms are constructed of high-density Styrofoam, with stabilizing webbing to retain shape and to keep rebar where required.  The forms are set one on top of another like giant Lego blocks, then braced for the concrete to be poured.  Often a concrete house has a tendency to feel chilly and damp.  Not the ICF concrete houses.  The insulating Styrofoam stays on the concrete, offering near-perfect protection from the elements.  Another added benefit is that because the concrete is protected and insulated during the curing process, it hardens to immense strength.  An ICF home will last for generations.
